As part of its 3rd annual Gala Dinner, SCI Monterrey Chapter decided to test its members ability to identify 5 trophies by touch alone. The trophies were hung in a dark room and each member entered, touched the trophies and when they emerged filled in a multiple choice questionnaire to try and identify the trophies.
The purpose of the Sensory Safari was to sensitize the club's 
members and to bring attention to the club's fundraising efforts for the humanitarian organization, Destellos de Luz, which assists individuals with vision challenges. Prior to the Sensory Safari, a teacher spoke of her personal experiences of “living in the shadows”.
