Great Entertainment at 2019 Convention

It is time to register for SCI’s 47th annual Ultimate Sportsmen’s Market™ January 9-12, in Reno, Nevada. While you register, don’t forget to buy tickets for our evening events in the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill.

ltcol ollieWe’ve booked one of our best-ever packages for entertainment: On Wednesday, we’ll hear a keynote speech from Lt. Col. Oliver North and the classic hits of the Bellamy Brothers. Oliver North is a combat decorated U.S. Marine, No. 1 Best-Selling Author, founder of a small business and holder of three U.S. patents. For 17 years he was a syndicated columnist and host of “WAR STORIES” on Fox News Channel. In May 2018 he retired from Fox to serve as the 66th President of the National Rifle Association.

For more than 30 years, the Bellamy Brothers have been an unassuming picture of consistency in Country music, crafting bellamy brothershonest, heartfelt songs that connect with millions of listeners around the world. Even more remarkable is the fact that they’ve remained relevant in a genre that has become increasingly enamored with style over substance, glitz over grit and fleeting celebrity over artistic vision. Yet Howard and David Bellamy have weathered the trends admirably, enjoying enormous success throughout their career with numerous No. 1 hits on both the Pop and Country charts.

Thursday evening, we continue our tradition of the Night of the Hunter. There is no entertainment, per se, but we think it is time for a party. After the festivities are over, the fun begins in the foyer of the ballroom. No ticket is required – admission is free to all! It’s not a fundraiser or a ceremony, just a chance to celebrate our members. Come help us make the party a success and we’ll make it a new tradition of SCI.

trace adkinsOn Friday, join us for towering baritone, Trace Adkins, who has sold more than 11 million albums and charted more than 20 singles in his 25 years in Nashville — a remarkable run for one of country music’s most easily identifiable stars. The Louisiana native recently released his 12th studio album, Something’s Going On, on BBR Music Group / Wheelhouse Records. A three-time GRAMMY Award nominee, Adkins has won three Academy of Country Music Awards, including the 2009 Single of the Year Award for You’re Gonna Miss This and Vocal Event of the Year with Blake Shelton for Hillbilly Bonein 2010.

zztopSaturday’s grand finale features a special performance by the legendary ZZ TOP, providing a perfect end to our 2019 Convention. ZZ TOP a/k/a “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact and, in 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, there are only three of them – Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill, Frank Beard –– but it’s still a remarkable achievement that they’re still very much together after almost 50 years of rock, blues and boogie on the road and in the studio. ZZ TOP’s music is always instantly recognizable, eminently powerful, profoundly soulful and 100 percent Texas American in derivation.
