Argentina Resumes Processing Hunting Trophy Export Permits

Safari Club International (SCI) reports that Argentina has resumed processing and issuing export permits for hunting trophies harvested in 2025 and 2026. The resumption marks an encouraging step forward for hunters and outfitters awaiting export documentation following a period of administrative delays.

The renewed issuance of permits allows eligible exports to move forward. Hunters and outfitters should continue to ensure that their documentation meets Argentina’s export requirements. SCI previously published an update on those requirements to help facilitate lawful exports.

Throughout the disruption, SCI leadership—including SCI Argentina Chapter leaders—and staff met with government representatives to advocate for clear, predictable, and timely procedures for hunters and operators that follow the law while supporting effective regulation and traceability. SCI has communicated directly with affected members through SCI’s Hunter Information Service, engaged Argentine hunting-sector partners, and pursued diplomatic outreach encouraging transparent permit processing.

The resumption of export-permit processing for trophies harvested in 2025 and 2026 is a positive development. SCI’s advocacy will remain focused on timely, transparent procedures that allow legally taken trophies to reach their owners.
