Hosted by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) last week, SCI was proud to participate in the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) annual Sportsman-Legislator Summit as a Title Sponsor. The event was a huge success in Little Rock, Arkansas with special guests Governor Asa Hutchinson, Representative French Hill, Representative Bruce Westerman, various state legislators from across the country, and other notable sportsmen.
A variety of hunting issues were discussed, with SCI’s EVP Ben Cassidy and Eastern States Liaison Bee Frederick discussing the Politicization of Hunting. Unfortunately, like many other topics, hunting is quickly becoming a volatile political issue. This has been fueled by the censorship of hunting content by Big Tech, trophy ban attempts across the country and world, anti-hunting local commissioners, and ballot box biology initiatives. This leads to wildlife decisions being made by emotions rather than scientific data and facts and has put millions of acres of hunting access at risk. This could quickly become death by 1,000 cuts.
As SCI is the leader in defending the freedom to hunt worldwide, we are fighting harder than ever for hunting and true conservation practices. We are nearing 50,000 grassroots advocates in our Hunter Advocacy Action Center – join us in the fight here. SCI is also focusing on increasing state coverage, empowering our membership, litigation efforts, strategic partnerships, and lobbying. Finally, SCI is celebrating 50 years this year with the best convention in our history in Las Vegas January 19-22.SCI thanks CSF for such a successful event and is proud to continue our support for the organization.
