WGH Challenge Entry: Peggy Houchin Red Stag

Peggy Houchin took this spectacular red stag on New Zealand’s South Island with Rivers South in April 2025. She previously wrote a story for Women Go Hunting about her experience in New Zealand (read Hooked at 50) and has now entered her photo in the 2027 WGH Hunting Awards Photo Challenge.

This red stag qualifies Peggy in the South Pacific category of the 2027 WGH Hunting Awards Photo Challenge. It could also count towards several of SCI’s World Hunting Awards, including the Animals of the South Pacific,  Red Deer/Wapiti of the World, and the Antlered Game of the World awards.
