WGH Challenge Entry: Aspen Darcey Muntjac

Aspen Darcey took this muntjac in Bedford, England with Childerley Sporting in March last year and entered it in the 2027 WGH Hunting Awards Photo Challenge. She shared with Women Go Hunting how she started hunting, writing:

“My mom and grandpa started taking me hunting as a very small child. When I was seven years old my grandpa took me rabbit hunting with my single shot “cricket” .22 rifle. He likes to travel the world hunting, and I asked when I would be able to join him. He said when I had all the animals in South Africa memorized and the proper shot placement for each. I even had a book to study!

“When I was 13, I went with him and mom, and I successfully harvested a wildebeest, blesbok and a mountain zebra. The hunts were exciting and I was hooked. I now travel to different countries with my grandpa on hunting trips. He and Mom always include sightseeing historical sites and exploring cultural experiences in each country. The latest hunt to England was a trip I did after I graduated high school. Grandpa, my mom and I had a great time at Childerley Sporting hunting muntjac and water deer.”

This very nice muntjac qualifies Aspen in the Europe category of the 2027 WGH Hunting Awards Photo Challenge. It could also count towards several of SCI’s World Hunting Awards, including the Europe 12, Animals of Europe, and numerous others.
