The United Kingdom is currently considering several proposals that would prohibit or severely restrict the import and export of hunting trophies to and from the UK. The UK government is now accepting public input through a consultation process.
Even if you are not a UK citizen or do not have plans to hunt there, your opinion matters in this debate. Tell the UK government that further restrictions are not needed for trophy importation or exportation.
One of the proposals would prohibit import and export of all trophies, regardless of species and harvest location. This includes ducks, deer, elk, and many other common species that clearly need no protections. Implementation of this proposal would be detrimental to conservation efforts worldwide, including North America.
Specifically, tell the government that you support “Option Four” and oppose the other three options because existing rules sufficiently regulate trade in trophies and import bans do not provide conservation benefits.
