TN Valley Chapter Nearly Doubles Membership

Kim Rappleye, SCI's Manager of Field Operations, reported 72 new members signed up in a mere few hours during the exciting annual party and program that featured outdoor television producer and bowhunter Tom Miranda as the keynote speaker.

Miranda's latest television project is “Territories Wild” documenting his around-the-world adventurous bow hunts and is enjoyed by a nationwide audience on cable television.

Led by its President Keith Watson, the Chapter concentrates its conservation efforts in Tennessee on meaningful projects benefiting wildlife and sportsmen, working closely with the State's Wildlife Resources Agency in returning hunt-sustainable populations of elk to the hills and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains and Cumberland Plateau.

The Chapter's Past President Bill Swan has just been named a Commissioner to the 13-member board of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission and was warmly congratulated on his prestigious accomplishment by everyone attending.

Bill's charming and hard working wife Vicki heads the Sables efforts in this part of Tennessee and also serves SCI's Sables organization nationally as its Treasurer.

Further valuable work is led by the Chapter with its program to honor war veterans and to give men and women in uniform outdoor hunting experiences through SCI's Hunts For Warriors that the Chapter funds with proceeds and donations received during its annual March fundraising event.– Phil DeLone
