The Moment I Knew Hunting is for Me
My hunting journey started when I was about 16. My father and brother had been hunting for many years and asked me if I wanted to join them on their antelope hunt that season to see if I’d be interested in it. We crawled to a haystack to stalk a small herd in the distance just as the sun was starting to peek out from across the prairie. At that moment I knew I was hooked.
For the next 20-plus years we hunted from Colorado to North Dakota to Nebraska to Namibia to Greenland to British Columbia. We’ve had more adventures than I could have imagined and moments that I never thought I would experience.
Advice I’d give to those thinking of getting into hunting? Get a hunting buddy, practice, learn, research, and be open to the adventures to come! – Jocelyn Guite
