Tell The UK Government Trophy Trade Bans Are Bad For Conservation

DEFRA logo

The United Kingdom is currently considering several proposals that would prohibit or severely restrict the import and export of hunting trophies to and from the UK. The UK government is now accepting public input through a consultation process.

Even if you are not a UK citizen or do not have plans to hunt there, your opinion matters in this debate. Tell the UK government that further restrictions are not needed for trophy importation or exportation.

Specifically, tell the government that you support “Option Four” and oppose the other three options because existing rules sufficiently regulate trade in trophies and import bans do not provide conservation benefits.

Click here to use Safari Club International’s Hunter Advocacy Action Center to tell the UK government that further restrictions are not needed for trophy importation or exportation. You can edit the email in the box provided with any other information you want to provide.

The UK has also issued specific questions in two separate surveys. If you want to answer those questions, you can do so here and here. Submissions are due January 25, 2020.
