Southwest Ohio Chapters Debuts Sensory Safari Trailer

Southwest Ohio Chapter of SCI unveiled their new Sensory Safari Trailer at a Field and Stream Shop grand opening in Dayton, Ohio in early October. In spite of rainy conditions on the opening day, the trailer saw well over 5,500 visitors on its first trip out.

“The trailer was absolutely a success,” said Chapter Vice President John Stohlman. “The kids had a blast, and the parents did, too!”

The Southwest Ohio Chapter has been involved in many youth and education projects over the years. This latest project will complement their long-standing financial support of local 4-H shooting sports programs.

Currently, 26 chapters have Sensory Safari Trailers and there are 56 permanent Sensory Safari locations. Combined, the mobile trailers and fixed locations receive over 75,000 attendees each year. For chapters interested in starting their own Sensory Safari Trailer, contact Stephanie Gary with the SCI Foundation at 520-620-1220 x387 or [email protected].
