SCI Welcomes New DU CEO Adam Putnam
Ducks Unlimited (DU) announced that former Florida Agriculture Commissioner and Member of Congress Adam Putnam was joining Ducks Unlimited as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“Adam is a sportsman and sincere conservationist, and I wish him great success at the helm of Ducks Unlimited,” said SCI President Paul Babaz. “He was a friend to SCI as a member of Florida’s U.S. House delegation, and I know that he is a friend and advocate for hunters everywhere. Our SCI membership welcomes Adam Putnam to the wildlife and conservation community. We look forward to working together to build opportunities for hunters domestically and abroad.”
Putnam recently concluded two terms as Agriculture Commissioner, ending more than 20 years in state and federal elected office. In 1996 at age 22, Putnam was the youngest person ever elected to the Florida Legislature. He was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, serving as Chairman of the House Republican Conference from 2007 to 2009. He was then elected Florida Ag Commissioner in 2010.
