SCI TN Valley to Co-sponsor 2016 Annual Youth Dove Hunt at Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge

SCI-TN-Valley-Dove-HuntTennessee Valley SCI is again partnering with TWRA and TWF on a youth dove hunt. All Chapter members are invited to attend.  Please inform the youngsters in the area about this opportunity.   The Chapter has donated a shotgun that will be given to a lucky participant.

Hunt Information

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, noon to sunset, the dove hunt for youngsters ages 10 to 15 will be held on Hiwassee Refuge WMA. All participants must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least       21 years of age. Steel shot is required. WMA Small Game Permit is required.

No access permitted by boat. Nontoxic shot approved by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service is required for dove hunting.

How To Register

Directions

From Hwy. 58 and Hwy. 60 near Georgetown, TN, take Hwy. 60 West; go 6.7 miles and turn right onto Old Hwy. 60; go 0.7 miles and turn right onto Blythe Ferry Road; go 0.4 miles and turn left onto Meigs County Road 163; take the right fork to the parking area. From Hwy. 27 and Hwy. 60 in Dayton, TN, take Hwy. 60 East; go 8.3 miles and turn left onto Old Hwy. 60; follow directions as given above.   GPS Coordinates: N35 23.561, W84 59.588
