SCI Texas Hill Country Chapter Marks Decade Of Support For Schreiner University Shooting Sports Program

The Texas Hill Country Chapter relies on the students for their physical assistance and the Shooting Sports Program depends on the Chapter for financial assistance.

The Texas Hill Country Chapter avidly supports the goals of SCI. Jackie Dukes, Chapter President said of the Chapter’s mission, “We recognize that our most important function is to support the protection of your right to hunt. Also, we recognize, it is imperative to be involved in conservation efforts here and around the world. SCI is the foremost leader and supporter in that field. The Texas Hill Country Chapter not only protects your right to hunt, but also supports local education and conservation programs, in addition to other programs worldwide.”

Schreiner University Shooting Sports Program, in its twelfth year of competition, provides team members an incredible opportunity to train and compete at some of the best facilities in the area: Hill Country Shooting Sports Center, Joshua Creek Ranch and the National Shooting Sports Complex. The team competes in a variety of shotgun sport disciplines: American Trap, American Skeet, International Trap, International Skeet, Sporting Clays, 5-Stand and Super Sporting.  In addition, the team competes in the Association of College Unions International (ACUI).

In 2014 through 2017, the team won the Division III Runner-Up title. In 2018, the team will compete in Division II while continuing to grow in size and talent. The continued financial assistance from The Texas Hill Country Chapter allows the Schreiner Shooting Team the necessary resources to train and to be competitive at the collegiate level.
