SCI Advocacy Champion and Diana Award Winner to Speak at WGH Mix & Mingle
SCI’s 2026 Diana Award winner Madeline “Madie” Demaske will share her hunting journey and provide advice to other women at the Women Go Hunting (WGH) Mix & Mingle event held on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 am to noon at the Omni Hotel during the 2026 SCI Convention in Nashville, TN.
The Diana Award recognizes women of SCI who have excelled in international big game hunting while showing exemplary ethics in the field, commitment to the mission statement of SCI, and personally giving their time and energies to enhance wildlife conservation and education.
An accomplished hunter by any definition, Demaske is also SCI’s associate litigator and part of the organization’s advocacy team, fighting for hunters’ rights and sustainable-use conservation every day. Demaske will share how hunting and being her father’s hunting buddy was woven into the tapestry of her life story and encourage other women to accomplish their goals in the outdoors.
The highly popular WGH Ladies Mix & Mingle is a free, annual event open only to ladies attending the SCI Convention. This casual event encourages participants to meet and network with women involved at every segment of the hunting community, from professional hunters and celebrities to spouses and moms who support their family’s hunting activities. Meet Demaske and mix and mingle with other women hunters, make new friends and even find new hunting partners, all while enjoying free mimosas, Bloody Marys and other beverages at the Mix & Mingle.
WGH is for women of all experience levels, backgrounds and interests in hunting and the outdoors. The group’s mission is to help women network, enhance their hunting knowledge, and find hunting opportunities suited for them.
