Redding Reloading Equipment for 2020 has added a “New Slant on Concentricity” by introducing, The Redding Slant Bed Concentricity Gauge.
Redding engineers have developed a new concentricity gauge, which uses the science of ergonomic design to improve overall precision and ease of use.
For years case and projectile concentricity have been a widely accepted measure for potential accuracy. Many tools and techniques have been manufactured to measure run out of the neck of a case and the bullet. For years Redding has produced a variety of specialty dies and tools to improve concentricity and now they have added a new and unique method for measurement as well.
The single point contact bearing surfaces are placed at an angle, and made of hardened stainless steel creating an ergonomic positioning of the case improving the ease of motion turning the case by making the action far more natural. Pushing down with the index finger is a natural movement as opposed to rolling on a flat which requires the movement of the entire arm. It improves both the ease of case rotation and the maintenance of proper alignment for reading. It follows in the great Redding tradition of making precision easier to use. Ergonomics eases use of many products. Redding has now brought this science to the concentricity gauge.
The new Slant Bed Concentricity Gauge features a large and easy to read, dial indicator which quickly mounts in a factory aligned base dead-on the centerline of the case. This assures the highest level of precision as no additional indicator alignment is needed. Moreover, the uniquely angled design of the slant bed also better positions the dial indicator for easier reading as opposed to older designs. Additionally, the Gauge can be transitioned from right-handed use to left-handed by using a provided set of mounting holes on the base. Simply remove the mount screws and transfer the working sections from one end to the other and left-handed users no longer need to struggle to get accurate readings.
