Science-Based Wildlife Management
SCI advocates for and encourages hunters to participate in on-the-ground conservation efforts and supports wildlife management backed by science.
While hunting provides recreation and sustenance, it is also a management activity that helps keep wildlife populations in balance and a revenue generator that funds research and conservation programs. As one example, hunting licenses and equipment purchases generate revenues that state agencies use for wildlife research and to expand habitat.
SCI supports state and federal programs that are grounded in scientific research and adaptive management. Such programs ensure the sustainability of wildlife populations for current and future generations.
