Northwoods Adventures Closes After 50 Years Of Service To Hunters

Following the passing of its president, Northwoods Adventures announced it will close after 50 years of helping hunters realize their dreams.Gary Strasser Sr

Gary D. Strasser Sr., President of Northwoods Adventures, passed away Jan. 23, 2019 at his home in Wisconsin.

Members have known Gary and his wife Carol as the owners of Northwoods and may have even booked one of their hunts.

Gary was a longtime SCI member and supporter, avid hunter and truly loved everything to do with hunting.  Members who called to book a hunt were provided exactly what to expect, including a wealth of knowledge about how to hunt for various game.

Gary and Carol attended many chapter meetings and many conventions. Often, they donated many hunts, rifles and gifts for our raffles.

He was surely passionate about successful hunting. With this news and after much consideration, Carol has informed us that after more than 50 years of helping hunters do more than dream about dream hunts, she is closing the business.

Carol and Susan (their daughter) send a sincere “thank you” for the many years of business from SCI members and for the many supportive thoughts and prayers they have already received.

Gary Sr. is most certainly with Gary Jr. in Heaven, hunting some wild game and making sure it is ready for all of us when we eventually move to do our hunting in the sky.
