Apparently, the Disney+ Channel has a series called the “Marvel Hero Project.” The show features young, “real-life heroes” who make a difference in their communities.
One of the selections for the series is a young animal rights activist from California.
According to an ABC News article, 13-year-old Genesis Butler has “been a real-life hero to many four-legged creatures in her local community for a while.”
“Animals are like the same as us. They have feelings. They have emotions and they feel sadness,” Butler said.
Butler has established a non-profit called Genesis for Animals. Her own genesis as an animal rights activist started a decade ago when she discovered chickens had to die so that she could order chicken nuggets. The ABC news article said that as a result of the three-year-old’s epiphany, the entire family went vegetarian.
A year later the family went vegan after the now-four-year-old questioned their consumption of cow milk.
Entering the international arena, Butler tried to ask the Pope to go vegan for Lent.
“We got a lot of other people to go vegan for lent and it brings a lot of awareness about veganism,” Butler said.
The latest American Hero will have her own episode on Marvel’s Hero project which is scheduled to air on February 21. Stay tuned…….
