Intervention Granted in Refuge Case

On Friday, September 29th, the U.S. federal district court in Washington, D.C. granted SCI, NRA, and Sportsmen Alliance Foundation’s joint motion to intervene in a case in which we intend to defend the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s decision to not prohibit the use of lead on Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge in West Virginia. All three organizations are now full parties in the litigation. As we reported last month, SCI’s intervention in this litigation continues our advocacy efforts related to the use of traditional ammunition on federal lands. SCI opposes lead use bans, and instead supports State-sponsored voluntary ammo swap initiatives. Simply, SCI supports allowing hunters a choice in their preferred ammunition.
