On Tuesday morning, SCI participated in a Communications Workshop hosted by the Bulgarian Hunting Federation (celebrating its 145 anniversary). Topics discussed were FACE pro-hunting petition (250k signatures to date and a deadline of June 6th before it is presented to the European Commission) and finalizing a hunting manifesto ahead of the 2024 election. The afternoon meeting covered house keeping items for FACE. Decisions of note were the Ukraine being voted on as a member and Wild Sheep Foundation joining as an associate member.
The theme of Wednesday’s member meeting was conserving small game on farmlands. Presentations were made by national hunting federations and partners. Ben Cassidy presented on the American approach with a focus on the Farm Bill, its conservation title and the programs of interest. A lively discussion followed.
