On Wednesday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a markup on several bills, including H.R. 6727, to establish the United States Foundation for International Conservation to promote long-term management of protected and conserved areas. This bill creates a public/private funded effort to drive $1 billion towards international conservation over the next 5 years. The funds are to be directed to projects which, among other stability requirements, direct the money towards improvement efforts such as sustainable use hunting conservation.
