Federal: USFICA Passes Committee 42-7

On Wednesday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a markup on several bills, including H.R. 6727, to establish the United States Foundation for International Conservation to promote long-term management of protected and conserved areas. This bill creates a public/private funded effort to drive $1 billion towards international conservation over the next 5 years. The funds are to be directed to projects which, among other stability requirements, direct the money towards improvement efforts such as sustainable use hunting conservation. SCI thanks Chairman McCaul for sponsoring this legislation the full Committee for advancing it to the House floor for a vote.
