Virginia Delegate Wendell Walker has introduced legislation to direct the Virginia Department of Game and inland Fisheries (Department) to develop a “How to Hunt” booklet for novice hunters.

HOUSE BILL 1307 directs the Department to:

develop and publish in print, or on its website (or both), a booklet intended for use by novice hunters that may be called “How to Hunt.”

The booklet is to be updated on an annual basis and will explain applicable federal, state, and local hunting laws and regulations according to the hunter's location, season, time of day, and weapon and other relevant factors as determined by the Department.
