Attitudes About Wolf Hunting in Europe may be Changing

On Monday April 3, Austria lifted its wolf hunting ban in Lower Austria for the next two years. Wolves can now be harvested, albeit only under certain conditions. Attitudes about wolf hunting in Europe may be changing. Austria’s action is a small step forward toward appropriate and effective wolf management, and may become an example for other parts of Europe with abundant wolf populations.
