Around the States: Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin


Kansas: Safari Club International’s Ben Cassidy, Executive Vice-President for International Government & Public Affairs, and Chris Tymeson, Western State & Local Liaison, attended the 13th Annual Kansas Governor’s Ringneck Classic in Colby, Kansas during the week of November 17th.  The Classic is a conservation fundraiser for habitat in northwest Kansas and raises awareness of upland hunting challenges and victories, attracting local, regional and national conservation leaders and champions.  

Michigan: SCI submitted comments in support of Senate Bill 664, a bipartisan bill that would create an elective program for Michigan school districts to host hunter and firearms safety programs within their schools.

Montana: SCI submitted comments ​​​​​​​supporting the Montana proposed black bear hunting regulations, season structures and hunting district boundaries.

Wisconsin: Senate Bill 139 and Assembly Bill 137 would ensure that the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) would include a statewide wolf population goal within their management plan. WI advocates, act now!
