Around the States: Colorado, Pennsylvania

Colorado:  On April 19, 2024, hunters, anglers, and conservationists from across the Centennial State gathered in Denver, Colorado for a day of celebration outside the state Capitol building and Safari Club International was there, along with its many conservation partners, to advocate for responsible wildlife management and recognize the important role that hunting and fishing play in the state.  The event was organized by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and the Colorado Wildlife Conservation Partnership, of which SCI is a member, and the Four Corners and Colorado Chapters of SCI were among the major sponsors of the event.  Even battling snow, hundreds attended the moose burger and elk sausage barbeque, including SCI’s 2023 State Legislator of the Year Perry Will, and several representatives from Colorado SCI Chapters.  Litigation Associate Madie Demaske was on hand as well and engaged with members of the conservation community on issues pertinent to SCI, its chapters, and members, including supporting Colorado’s hunting heritage and promoting the concerted joint effort to fight Ballot Initiative 91.

Pennsylvania: SCI continued to support expanding Sunday hunting in the Keystone State with a letter of support for Senate Bill 67 and House Bill 2106. Additionally, SCI joined our partner organizations in a letter urging the Governor to ensure the boards for the PA Game Commission and the PA Fish and Boat Commission remain fully appointed. Read the letter.
