Around the States: Colorado, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Oklahoma

Colorado:  SCI joined a coalition letter opposing three appointees to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission in the confirmation hearing of the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, resulting in two of the three appointments being recommended unfavorably.  SCI will continue to update on the situation.  Read the letter here.
 
Kansas:  House Bill 2671, which originally appeared to reduce nonresident hunting license fees to the same level as resident hunting license fees and which SCI opposed, died on the House floor.  Read the original letter of opposition here.

Maryland: SCI submitted comments in support of HB 957 which would allow for a regulated tundra swan hunt in Maryland. Read the letter. 

Mississippi: SCI joins seven other hunting and conservation organizations in a letter supporting several bills that would enhance Mississippi’s natural resource management and conservation funding. Read the letter. 
Oklahoma: Senate Bill 941, an SCI supported bill that would modernize licensing statutes in the Sooner State, passed the House with an 88-3 vote. Read the original coalition support letter here.
