SCI Minnesota Chapter To Auction Shiras Moose Governor’s Tag
It’s not a secret that it’s getting harder to draw premium tags in the western states. For those states with preference point systems, drawing a premium tag can take decades. Luckily, there is another option that allows hunters to skip the wait and support conservation at the same time. This year, Minnesota SCI has received a Wyoming Governor’s Tag for Shiras Moose.  If you’ve wanted to add a trophy Shiras Moose to your collection, this is a rare opportunity to access premium Wyoming hunting units with no wait. This license allows the winning bidder to hunt in any open hunt area in accordance with Commission regulations, provided that hunt area has at least ten or more licenses. The license will be auctioned at the Chapter fundraiser March 6 and 7, 2015.  Phone bids will be accepted from any SCI member with a March 4 deadline.  Contact Peter Hunt at Minnesota SCI at (952) 994-9982 for more details. Every year since 2003, the Governor of Wyoming has granted 25 big game licenses to Wyoming Wildlife – The Foundation. The Foundation is a charitable, non-advocacy organization dedicated to conservation education and the funding and management of projects that benefit Wyoming wildlife. Working with conservation partners around the United States, The Foundation provides these highly desirable tags to be auctioned off at various events. The funds generated from the sale of this license will be used to support conservation projects in Wyoming. To date, this program has generated over $4.2 Million for these projects.
